We got out of the house!!

Image
We have been getting stir crazy staying home because of the Covid-19 restrictions.  We had to get out of the house so we took the bus for a drive along the ocean.  It was like we were on a mini 15 minute vacation! It was great to feel the ocean breeze and marvel at the blue water!  Kids got to enjoy the view from their bunk beds for a few minutes! We may have to start doing this every weekend until we can start going on adventures again!

Weekend kitchen work

We worked on our beautiful kitchen this weekend! We don’t have much room to work with so we decided we will not be putting in an oven since it will take away all counter space.  So we decided to order a 24” sink cabinet and a 30” drawer cabinet from Ikea.  We were lucky that we didn’t even have to go to the store to place the order.  Everything was done online and it was delivered this past Wednesday!! So of course we knew that was going to be our weekend project! We started out by building a box around the wheel hump so that we have something to set cabinets on. Then we had to measure 20 times to figure out how much of the cabinets to cut off to mount on the box.  That was tricky but we did it! We then had to reinforce everything from the inside and outside to make sure it was not going to move at all while driving down the road.  Then I was able to install the drawers and shelves! I didn’t want a standard RV sink so I went with a BIG one!! I LOVE it!! It even ...

We have bunk beds!

We have bunk beds!   Brent has been working hard this past week.  He’s had some more time now that we are stuck at home because of the Covid-19 pandemic.  I can’t take any credit for the bunk bed build.  First he started with framing the walls. Then bolted in the bunk supports. Here’s the kids testing it out! The size is a little narrower than a twin bed so that our hallway won’t be too narrow. I think it will work for them!  I actually found a foam mattress on Amazon for the exact same measurement! Thankfully I don’t have to make anything since I’m still struggling with the couch cushions! My mom has been helping me figure out how much fabric I need! 😬 Great job Brent on the bunk beds!! You’re amazing! My job lately has been figuring out the plumbing and how we are going to mount a 65 gallon freshwater and 75 gallon gray water tank under the bus!! Just got this shipment! The tanks!
